Our boys are destroying the finish on our beautiful walnut kitchen table. 🙄Any recommendations on a tablecloth that's easy to wipe off? Fabric ones seem to stain easily and bunch up too much but I don't like the real thick, stiff vinyl. I'm not sure if what I'm looking for even exists!

I've seen a hybrid version before at TJMaxx--it's definitely fabric but more waterproof. I still don't buy them though--they just look plasticy and I don't like that.

We actually just use fabric ones. I switch it out almost every day (I have 4-5) and throw it in the wash--they clean better than you would think.

I think for protecting a beautiful table that's seeing heavy use, you might want to look into having a piece of glass cut to fit? But whatever you do don't search Etsy for "oilcloth tablecloth." Homigoodness I think I need a custom cloth, or at least a couple yards of fabric and a lesson on how to sew a seam. There is some GORGEOUS oilcloth fabric out there.

We purchase whatever is on sale and marketed as “outdoor” use at Home Goods or TJMaxx. They feel like heavy duty cloth, and don’t have the waxy glaze.

Ok. I'll try TJMaxx. Now that I'm thinking of it, I bet it was real oilcloth we used to have growing up. It wasn't as plasticity and glossy. Those ones on Etsy are beautiful. Maybe my Mom could find some and send them over.

I think we've gone beyond a glass top already. It needs to be refinished. The kids now have their own table for toys. Live and learn.
