  • Renovations

We recently had a water leak. Our bathroom cabinet in the master bath is ruined. The money part stinks, but we’re going to get to renovate. Are vanities with glass bowls still in? Anyplace I should look for ideas?

Do you mean this sort of thing? https://www.wayfair.com/home-improve...xoC5ekQAvD_BwE

Or really any other "bowl on a countertop" sort of thing? If so, no. We had one several rentals ago and it was inconvenient (stuck out farther than a typical sink into the bathroom, poor use of counter space for things like soap, showed every spot, etc.) and frankly, very ugly.

I'm sure you're not planning for resale in the same way we are as short-timers, but if I saw one in a house I viewed, I'd be mentally adding a new vanity to the reno budget.

Take a look through Real Simple, Domino, HGTV, Houzz, etc. for ideas.

I'm not a fan of the bowl sinks. I think it's wasted counter space, and I think they'd be a pain to clean.

Not a fan of bowl sinks either.

FWIW, we did a wood like tile in our master bath and I love it.

Decisions decisions. I told Thomas what you all said about the bowls but right now he is set on them. I suggested we go to Home Depot or Menards and try them out. If you guys say they're a bad deal, I don't want to do them.

I’ll be the dissenting opinion on vessel sinks. I loved mine! We had it in our AZ home. I loved the look and had no issues cleaning it. I think part of the battle is making sure you have an appropriate facet for the sink. This was my exact sink and facet.

That is gorgeous. What color cabinet did you have? We have Oak everywhere. It would be weird to change the wood in one bathroom.
