Get a Dyson. Word is that you don't want to stop vacuuming.

the Dyson? I'll admit I now want to stop ... but I still do it. It's an obsession. I've vaccummed more in the past 3 days ....

I second the suggestion to invite company. Forces me to clean too. While on a whole I found flylady unhelpful, some of the suggestions worked for me. Stop accumulating and start dealing with stuff as soon as it happens. So instead of stacking mail and coming back to it in a month, sort it right away. Instead of putting a dish in a sink and walking away, wash it right away.

Although my number one advice on how to keep your house clean is to hire help.

Or have my husband over... There's a waitlist with Vishenka at the top.

stella, stella, stella....You forgot the most obvious option here. Embrace the chaos...embrace the mess. Sit down with a cup of coffee and relax and spend an hour or so imagining what your house could look like if you did feel like cleaning up...kind of a housecleaning meditation...and then...go for a walk so you don't have to look at the mess. :>
