in the hallway i think it looks a little industrial. in the living room i think the wainscotting softens it. but it's still a very cool / masculine color scheme, and an odd choice w/the yellows and reds so close (IMO)

Here are some pics of my LR/DR in DC. I LOVED these colors- the orange is Peachy Keen, the green is Wales Green, the ceiling and trim is Seahorse and the other walls are a very pale purple called Whisper Violet.

I've been on this orange thing for a while now. I can't WAIT to move out of this rental so I can play with color again.

there are better pictures on the realtor.com site http://www.realtor.com/Prop/1059837532

I'm not a huge fan of grey because I think it's impossible to look good standing next to a grey wall. It's way too industrial for my tastes.

I'm not big on grey and I think it can easily look dingy if it is too light. I agree with Jenn -- looks a little industrial in the entryway but it is better in the office area. I like your ideas of other options.

I do like the grey on the outside!

Eggplant sounds nice too. We did an accent with an eggplant color at our old house that I really liked. Maybe the paint was even called Aubergine?

Have fun -- sounds like some good projects.

All of my colors came from Benjamin Moore- I think we have a whole section back in the archives extoling the virtures of their paint. They have a pretty fun website to play around with, FYI.

Have fun! and like I said, I'm soooo jealous.

Eggplant- one of my favorite colors of all time.
