There is something so elegant and refined about Bri (Brie or Bree...however you spell it!)

Sure, she seems a little cold and aloof...but I bet she doesn't have crazy neighbors (oh wait, she does) that start all kind of terrible rumors about her, throw lawn furniture and give her kids the finger. (They are just busy having affairs, murdering their neighbors, etc...but what's a little intrigue between neighbors, right?)

    She's elegant, mannered and organized.

I am...overweight, frumpy and terribly disorganized. My husband laughed out loud when I told him I aspired to Bridome.

I have spent a couple of days trying to talk more slowly, carry myself in a more...dawketer's wifey way...trying to keep my house clean.

    It's exhausting being not me.

Is this a "clean my house" thread or a "be like Bree" thread?

I love the woman too. She is very graceful. I feel like I was more like Bree when I was doing pilates. I had better posture, etc. But I can't always be "presentable" whether it is my house or my attitude. Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic.

You don't need to be like Bree and frankly, I think Bree would make a crappy message board leader. Just my $.02...

I'm going to guess that mine would too (if I aspired to Bri-dom). He'd probably prefer that I try to be like Susan. Her house is always clean, too, and he thinks she's hot.

We use a version of the flylady's technique. I have a list of things that have to get done daily - make beds, wash dishes, feed the dogs, etc. and then every week day i do one 'chore' ie -
                mondays - change the beds
tuesdays - clean the bathrooms & kitchen
                wednesdays - dust & vac,
thursday - laundry & iron (while watching tv)
                friday - grocery shop

This usually leaves the weekends free for fun. Some weeks I have to run a few errands on Saturday, but not usually.

I haven't gotten good enough to do the 'zone' cleaning....just surviving is enough for me right now!

What is really nice is the DH is totally on board with this method and helps out as much a Q4 call will allow!

I agree with Samssugarmama--the fly lady method really helps to make things more managable. You can checkout her website http://www.flylady.net and she also has a book, Sink Relfections.

Flylady doesn't do anything but add clutter to my inbox. I finally ended up targeting the emails as spam.

Kris - I agree. Once I received enough info from the flylady to make my own system, I removed my self from her mailing list. I definately don't need 20 emails a day reminding me to clean something!

I agree on the e-mails to but I just printed some of her info from the website and her books looks good too and not too expensive.

I've tried flylady but gave up and went back to hired help. Although I absolutely love having a cleaning woman, she doesn't help keep the place in the same state she left it. The one thing I hate almost as much as call nights are the post call days. DH usually feels especially entitled to messing the place up. I gave up for the most part and just try to make sure we don't acquire new pets in between her visits.

Yeah, I am actually calling mine back and having them come more often. When I got home that first day of the cleaning, I just wanted to hug my carpet and kiss my pans it was so beautiful.

I'm on Flylady's list right now and I'm going to sign off. I already a lot of the stuff she suggests, I just have a lot of clutter. I am going to use her idea of decluttering once a week. I figure if I do that, I'll be good to go in a month.
