  • Ear Candles

We ear candled tonight. It is shockingly awesome or awesomely shocking. Awesome in that I am like I cannot believe all that came out of my ear, and shocking in that I cannot believe all that came out of my ear!! I feel the need to go out and get more so I can do it at least weekly.

I guess I'm one of those get-it-by-poking that one of the websites discourages.

THey are ususally in the check out line at the health food store and some spas will do them. You stick this hollow candle in your ear, light it, let it burn for five or ten minutes, and it sucks out all your earwax. By all, i mean, alllllllllll. It is like a Dyson, things come out of there that you never thought possible.

It is a Dyson thing. It's been a while since I did it but I think it really helped me with some on-going ear infection problems.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but am a little scared. Is it safe to remove all the wax? Can it harm your ears in any way?
I think this would really help me but I don't know enough about it.

It sounds intriguing to me as well. There is something so great about a clean ear. :> What's that all about?

Here's what I found though on the dangers.

I'll have to think about it. The experiment at the end of the page is a little disheartening.

I haven't heard anyone talk about this in years! (I learned about them from a past life/past relationship.) My dh doesn't believe ear wax candles exist, I tried explaining them a couple times. I'll have to track some down and do it again, it was absolutely fascinating in a disgusting sort of way. Opens up a whole new level in your relationship with whoever's watching. Ew-w-w.
