  • what is this?

    on my kitchen counter is this thing. we thought it was for a blender but it's not. when you push down on the dial it turns the top one on. tonight i saw it on HGTV in another house stuck in the 80's. anyone know what it is?

            yes, it is built into the counter top. i looked up the brand name...Nutone(sp?) but didnt see it on their website.

            we have a disabled alarm system, an intercom system and central vac....two of those seem to be on the nutone site.

            so, anyone else?

              Are you sure it isn't a blender or food processor? My grandmother had one. You put the glass blender jar on the top one and the dial on the bottom is what runs it.

              (Why you need the blender motor built into your counter, I don't know...)

                i guess it is for a blender. i looked all over the nutone site and could not find it.

                  Sylvia, I recognized it immediately. I have fond memories of my grandmother making soup for me and pureeing it in the blender before serving it. It was my favorite thing to eat at her house and that picture reminded me of it.

                      I just saw this thread. We had one of these in the house I grew up in. The house was built in 1979/80. It was for a food proecessor and blender ( I believe there were two attachments).

                      How funny!
