  • Halloween costume help

I would love, love to try to make one of these costumes for my daughter for Halloween, but my sewing experience is limited, at best.

I would like to do this one - the Snow White one or:

    Alice.

I think the Snow White one looks harder. It is so cute though. If I did Alice, though, I would want to add a collar and a petticoat and pantaloons. I like the costumes to look like the actual pricesses. I went to the Disney Store today, and the costumes were ridiculous. I don't want to pay $50 for a costume that I have to be told is Alice, because it's got so much glitter and weirdness on it that it's hard to tell.

Anyway, costumes like this on ebay are $100+.

So, I am asking, should I bother trying, or can anyone quote me a price to sew one of these up for me?

I have no idea what something like this would go for, but you could always put up an Alchemy request on Etsy....there are a lot of sellers who make Disney costumes. With Alchemy, you set your ideal price (say $60 or $70) and sellers place bids. Some will come back higher, but some may come back lower. I'm always surprised by how cheaply stuff goes for on Etsy.

Thank you so much! I will definitely check into it! I already found the snow white dress in a size 4 on there for $45! I don't know if it comes with the cape, but that's pretty awesome.
