  • EASY (for the crafty challenged) costume ideas

DH and I were invited to a costume required halloween party hosted by one of the partners...a month ago. I kept bringing up the subject of costumes and DH came up with a costume that, frankly, only he and the other 2 partners would understand (ID clinic ) - also not sure how to create said costume. Last week I started asking about our costumes and I got the "I am soooo busy saving lives - cannot think about that" attitude from DH. Fine I thought - I will not worry about it and if there are no costumes, then we will not go. Long story short, it is the week of the party DH and I still do not have costumes. When I told DH today that we would not go - he said that we HAD to go because he told them that we would be there blah - blah -blah.

Now I am ticked!!! All of the sudden this is an issue that must be dealt with?? :tsk: Well, I have to be out of town for work all day tomorrow - fly out at 6:30a and do not fly in until 9:00p. DH is on his own.

So, in the spirit of doing my part, would any of you care to have pity on DH and share your easy costume ideas?
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Thanks! I will pass that on.

One year I bought pig snouts and wrapped ourselves in blankets. We were.....pigs in a blanket. DH was not thrilled with that idea then and does not want to do it now. Said he was too hot. Do we have a whiner emoticon??

I tell yah - keep those ideas coming because the boy is on his own.

My friend and I put paper bags over our heads and went as the "ugliest women in the world' which is probably not PC enough these days.

My costume for this year is the based on the main scary guy from the movie "The Strangers". It's pretty easy if you have a cordoroy suit jacket and a white/beige textile shopping bag or something similar. It works like a charm; the gf gets genuinely scared when I put the hood on.

My number one easy costume is to wear a black shirt and black pants. Take a black garbage bag stuffed full of newspaper and slap a white circle on it with 8 on it. Easiest costume ever.

My husband once went to a frat Halloween part as a Secret Service agent. Super easy. Dark suit, bland tie, white dress shirt (all already in his closet), cheap black sunglasses, and a Walkman earbud "discreetly" running from one ear down to his collar. He made a homemade Secret Service badge and he was done.

There was a friend dressed up as Bill Clinton at the party. They hung out together.

My DH once went to a party dressed as the Unabomber. Grey hoodie sweatshirt, dark sunglasses ... and he carried a box wrapped in brown paper.
