Christmas Gifts!!!

Are you making any this year? I am... I think. For family I think I'm gonna make these door stops and also a handle cover for paint buckets, etc. The handle wraps around with velcro and keeps the hand from being cut into by the weight of the bucket. Family requested no monetary gifts this year, which is fine with me. I love homemade gifts!

My knitting list keeps getting longer (and yet here I sit and type). This year alone, I have 3 Christmas stockings (I am using this kit in blue). One for each of the new babies that were born. (Must remember to look for a less fertile family the next time I am looking for a mate.)

My sister says that my niece desperately wants a scarf. So, we are off to find yarn for that this week.

And I bought this pattern and yarn on Friday because they are so freaking adorable. It is the pumpkins. The yarn shop had samples and they were shorter and squatter than the ones on the pattern. My sister LURVES fall and I figure is is the perfect gift for her.

One of the dawkters Garrett is doing rotations with just loved him. He gave us a Breadman machine which we have been going crazy with! We made some cajun bread and decided that we would make homemade bread and homemade spread to go with it as gifts for our friends and family. It's an affordable way to give something personal

I've recently stumbled across an awesome pumpking / cream cheese cake / bread recipe. I know you said you don't bake, but it's easy and seems like it might have taken some know-how.

I originally made muffins. Yesterday I made it as a cake. I was thinking of doing 6" cake pans and wrapping for little neighbor treats.

I'm thinking of making gifts this year. I sew & bake. I am going to make christmas stockings for myself, dh & Oscar. I was also thinking about making tote bags for my sis/sis family & parents. Using snapfish.com, I've made calendars for my mom, mother-in-law, and grandma. I've been making the calendar for my grandma for the last few years with pictures of all her 8 children and dozens and grand children and great grandchildren. It's been a great way to keep in touch with my family all across the country when I send out my annual photo request.



Last year, after our trip to Italy I made homemade Limoncello for my friends. It actually turned out fairly well!

Our old neighbors used to make all sorts of cellos. Lemoncello, orangecello, peachcello, raspberry....

I've made Limoncello as well--it was fun and turned out well, but I had to mark the bottles really well because of the high alcohol content--any kid would grab it is a second with that bright yellow color!

It was also wayyy too strong--I made it with Everclear (and diluted 50%), but apparently you can make it with a high-proof vodka as well?
