  • glueing question

Quick question. I am working the baby book. I need to glue pictures into the baby book. What type of glue do I need to get so that 1) it will stay on for a long long time and 2) it will be somewhat archival safe?

    TIA!

I would go to a scrapbooking store or the scrapbooking area at Michael's, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby...

I've always used Tombow Mono-adhesive. Staples makes a generic of it.

My MIL the scrapbook fiend uses a double-sided tape (I think this: http://www.creativememories.com/Main...-Runner-Refill).

I am a Scrapbook fiend (well used to be until the last few years: I use Close To My Heart products. Everything is archival safe and wonderful! I have used the glue, and two sided tape, as well as foam tape and such for different effects.

You can order, find a rep, and do all sorts of things, even have a party!

I like the archival safe double-sided tape, too. With glue, it always seems to end up where I don't want it.

              Moonlight,
Quick question: when did you receive the baby book, and when did you start entering information in it? I'm not really sure how this whole thing works...
              Thx!

Adrianne - To be honest? Sophie's baby book was purchased when she was 2 weeks old (I had been looking for months and finally found one that was tollerable at an indy bookseller). And it is mostly blank. Part of that is due to the moves and squeezing into my parent's home and the rest is because I suck and scrapbooking and journalling.

Oh gosh. That's a hard question. I went down to Hallmark and bought the baby book when I was about 6 months pregnant. I don't like it for some reason. It just isn't as nice as my Hallmark baby book (the one from the 70's). I'm filling it out tho. When the baby was about 3 months old I saw a baby book made by Carter's (baby clothes company) a really cute one at Wal-Mart of all places. I don’t think it's going to hold up for 20+ years. It seems kinda cheaply made BUT it has all the cute info and stuff I want to fill in. Examples- A page were you can note the date of each new tooth. Pages of "Firsts" First friend, first bath, first time to crawl, walk, smile, laugh, outing, vacation, shopping, and on and on! IF I can find a really nice one that has everything I want I'll be happy to start all over. I'm kinda a crazed perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm wondering- are you filling out a pregnancy journal? That was loads of fun to fill out. Again, I had a couple of those as well. Do you need a recommendation?

BTW I bought the glue dots per the sales gal's recommendation at Michael’s. I like 'em! A
