I'm thinking of signing up for nutrisystem and having the meals sent to me...I'm just...so frustrated with myself.

Part of my proble now is that when my mil was here last time I started researching all of these recipes and....now that she's gone I have become a cooking fiend...it's a new...hobby. I subscribe to this fabulous german cookign magazine and I try and make new things every week....Since my mil left, I would say we are living in a german restaurant almost nightly...though..sometimes it is still just pizza or a frozen meal rewarmed.

I can't CONTROL myself when it comes to german sauces and noodles.

I feel so good about organizing our meals and making such yummy things, but one bite is the kiss of death for me....I end up eating 2 or 3 helpings. So the good news is...I actually CAN cook. The bad news is...that I started cooking yummy things and I can't control my own eating habits.

    ugh.

So...it's not German food, but how about picking up an issue of Cooking Light? You can still have fun cooking but it will be lower calories and fat.

Desserts are my weakness (surprised?) but I do pretty well on other stuff by making modifications to cut down on fat. That way I can still cook.

I once read an interview with Nigella and they asked her how she manages to stay so thin when she cooks so rich and yummy. She said something along the lines of "I tell myself that this is not the last time I will ever eat this," so she doesn't feel like she has to eat to make up for a lifetime of going without something so yummy. I try to remember this when I *think* I'm still hungry but when I really just want more!!

Maybe give yourself one serving....and then put another serving in a tupperware in the fridge. Tell yourself you can have the second serving in an hour if you still want it. Then brush your teeth right after dinner. You won't want to mess up the minty freshness by eating again. At least it works for my mom.
