  • Attention those trying to lose weight:

I will permit weight posting ONCE a week. Here. But you must promise that you WILL NOT look the other six days of the week.

and here are the rules for weigh-ins:

You will wake up and pee. you will strip to nothing. You will weigh yourself.

You will get dressed. you will slide the scale under something so that you don't see it again.

You will also be required to post what exercises you've done. I want BOTH aerobic and anaerobic. If you need an at home program I will design one for you. remember- having baby dudes is no excuse- I can design a program for that too.

(yes my non-compete clause has expired and I can once again function as a personal trainer- I've renewed my certifications AND my first aid and cpr. Yoga certification starts in October...)

So there. No more daily weigh-ins. or if you insist on daily weigh-ins you MUST post the average once a week.

    Jenn

          I do daily weigh-ins, and I'm doing awesome! :P

I have to weigh daily. It keeps me on track. Really.

Oh and who weighs at night with clothes on, please? I only weigh buck nekked in the morning after peeing. It's the only sane way.

I've been bad on exercise lately. Need to get back to the gym. I hurt my toe, and it has been difficult to get past it.

OK- For the world to see:

Weighed myself yesterday: 146. As I said, I'm not all that pressed about the scale because I'm more focused and getting back into supreme shape. I weighed 151 when Rick left though. It's been two and a half months of serious action.

The activities of the week have been: MThF- one hour with the trainer at the gym. We do primarily strength building stuff- some weights, some isometrics, some other equipment.

Tuesday I took the dog for an hour long walk along the Riverwalk and then later did a 60 minute kundalini yoga dvd. Wednesday I took the day off.

Food/drink wise I've done pretty well this week as I stocked up on Sunday with a ton of fruit. Last night I went to happy hour and had some beer but eh, once a week is no big deal. I ordered the dude and I some mini burgers from the place and everyone shared them. All in all, not too bad.

This morning I had low fat whole wheat eggos with plain yogurt and two nectarines and sprinkled with some wheat germ. Coffee with rice milk.
For lunch I'll have left over pizza. Dinner- scallops and some pasta.

                anyone else care to share?

You're going to kiiiiillllllL me. I am *never* hungry for breakfast. Eating in the morning makes me want to gag. I don't like breakfast foods - I think that's a big part of it. In general, I don't feel like fruit (my stomach doesn't like acid?) in the morning. It feels like I'm forcing something that my body just doesn't want. I don't like cereal (in general - just don't like the taste of it, the consistency (something hard floating in milk - yuck!). I don't like American yoghurt. So... I just don't eat and eat a larger lunch. By 11, I'm starving. To be honest, I usually don't eat anything until noon or 1. This can't be healthy.

                  Help?

I have a friend who has salmon every day for breakfast. Like you, she doesn't like most breakfast foods and she's lactose intolerant.

You need to stop thinking that there are rules. There are no rules except to remember what breakfast means- break the fast. Not eating for more than 12 hours makes your body think that it's starving and it will hold on to fat. Your metabolism slows, you're tired and you're literally running on empty.

How about a handful of nuts (walnuts or almonds) and some rice milk as you're running out the door? protein/fat/carbs and you're good to go and then have something more substantial as you're more awake in the day.

Alison, maybe you could try eggs? How about waffles, pancakes, or at least a power bar?

I don't even have a scale here and I'm not focused on a number, but I need to work on getting back into shape. I'm the kind of person who needs tangible results so "I noticed I'm not quite so tired when I do this" simply won't cut it for me. I also can't run at all (and who would run in this heat anyway?) but I am bringing a couple of workout videos and I suppose I can take walks up and down these hills. How would you monitor progress if you were in my shoes? Maybe with a heart rate monitor?

Oh, I'll be using Tamilee Webb's "I want that body".

I don't weigh either. I ususlly can tell by my clothes. I also hate to eat early. On days that I work I'm up at 5:30 and usually eat at break around 9:00. I eat what ever I want, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Jenn, If I have leftover salmon I will also eat that for breakfast.

                          Thanks for your tips!
If anything, I'll eat leftovers from the night before. It's probably a Japanese thing. They consume so much salt, that I will eat fish, soup (chicken noodle or wonton, for example), rice.... etc. I don't like the sweet stuff that my dh packs in in the morning. Waffles with syrup, cereal, oatmeal. It just doesn't do it for me... I think I'll start with a handful of nuts or something else that is salty. That will help, I think.

I'm in! I also weigh daily, but will make Fridays my official weigh in day. This morning I weighed 146.0 as well! I ate cereal this morning, 1/2 pb&j sandwich and a soup at hand for lunch, and for dinner I had a 6 oz steak with broccoli and mac & cheese. Flavored water to drink all day.

As for exercise, I did 30 minutes of martial arts, 45 minutes of walking/jogging on the treadmill, and 15 minutes of calisthenics.

11 more days until Vegas, so I gotta keep moving!
