  • My war on fat!

DH and I have decided that for the next few months my priorities are to take care of myself and my health and of DD (not always in that order ). When I was expecting DD1 I gained a lot of weight (~75 lbs) and I've been struggling ever since to get it off. I'm going to track my progress here.

So far, I've been doing Weight Watchers for 4 weeks (two of which I just journaled and didn't track points). I'm down 3 lbs so far and I weigh in again tomorrow morning.

I've also been exercising pretty regularly for the past 4 weeks. I'm mainly doing exercise videos in the mornings and taking DD1 for a walk in the afternoon. I'm working hard not to go too hard core and burn myself out or injure myself.

Since I have so much to lose, I'm going to track it in 10 lb increments because the grand total is just too much. Plus, we'd like to try for # 3 in the spring (not that that will bring Lilly back or replace her.....that was always our plan even before we found out that she was sick....). Anyway, I have no hopes of losing all 75 lbs before we start trying for # 3 but I'd like to get rid of as much as possible. I'm hoping for 35 - 40. We'll see. My GI doc just upped my predinsone again so I'll have to work extra hard to see any progress at all.

    Here's my first tracker:

              Thanks gals! You guys rock!

Good idea Annie. I'd never thought to ask for help!

Here's what I say to 1 more pound goodbye: :nana:

              Challenges for the week:
              - I dropped to a lower point range so I get two less points per day
              - Breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning
              - Baking cookies with mom on Saturday afternoon
              - A birthday party on Sunday
              - Yesterday was hard emotionally (too many babies at storytime) so I had a little cookie binge last night. I know the weight gain will show up in a week or so so I'll be extra diligent about weighing and exercising.

Good luck this week Lily!!! :rah:

Best of luck to you over the next few weeks! I too have a big goal that I'm just pecking away at day by day. Hang in there. You can do it.

I NEVER thought I would be able to stick to such a grueling diet plan as well (esp with all the med school stress), but here I am a few weeks down the road with 22 pounds off!!

                            Good job Lilly!!!!!!!!!!

I had another loss this week ( ) and so my total right now is -4.5. Woo hoo!!!! If my family would leave me alone for five minutes I could update my ticker!!

I did good with the challenges but did bad for emotional eating. How is it that I can stand and make cookies all day and only eat two (which I'd planned on) and then sit at the computer and surf and eat 6 or 8 ? That doesn't make sense!!!

                            Challenges for this week:
-Sam's work Christmas party on Friday night.
-Our neighborhood Christmas party on Sunday night. We are doing a progressive dinner and going to four different houses (including ours). We are doing dessert - an angel food cake iced with cool whip and topped with crushed candy canes and homemade vanilla ice cream. I'm sticking with the angel food cake for dessert.

                              Re: My war on fat!

                              Another 0.5 gone.

My new total loss is 5 lbs. Not amazing, but respectable considering the holiday and emotional challenges of late. To celelbrate I bought myself a new exercise DVD.

5 more lbs and I've earned a new haircut!!! My hair is looking pretty bad so I either need to pick up the pace or re-evaluate if I can wait that long!

I'm halfway to my first goal!
