I've meant to ask this for the last couple of weeks, but I seem to get online and then get sidetracked with the kiddos and never get back to it.
When I walk, I get terrible calf pain and pain on the sides of my shins. I don't know if it is shin splints? If I slow down considerably, sometimes I can get the calf pain to subside...but the pain on the sides of the front of my shins (it's more in the muscles than the actual shin) lingers for AGES and it is substantial enough that when I am walking by myself I sometimes have to sit down for awhile. I did a couple of miles this morning and even though I've been home for nearly an hour now, the muscles there are still throbbing.
I am wearing good walking shoes with adequate/good support. I have tried stretching first and afterwards...that does not seem to help at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions on working through this? Thanks in advance!
Kris
