The only thing that has worked for me is birth control pills. But I hear there are some risks with BC pills, and since you have had a historectomy (i butchered that spelling) I am not sure if those are heightened.

I know a lot of people who say Proactive really works.

I have finally found a routine that helps battle breakouts. I have combination skin.
I use St Ives Apricot Scrub every morning and Clearasil Cleansing Wipes every night. I think it's important to have something stronger at night when removing make-up but I don't like to use harsh products twice a day.

I've been using St Ives for 10 years, all the women in my family use it. It's so mild and leaves your skin feeling beautiful.

I do Oil of Olay daily facial cleansing clothes for combination-to-oily complexion.
Clinique Anti-wrinkle cream & Moisturizer for Eyes.
Regular moisturizer is Oil of Olay Regenerist w/ SPF 15, and then for a renewed look, Clinique Daily Exfoliant Scrub (every 7-10 days), paired with Oil of Olay Regenerist Serum.

Since my teenage years I've washed with Neutrogena glycerin facial cleanser (the liquid kind - it's an amber liquid in a pump bottle).

I've been using the Oil of Olay Regenerist line for the last few years and have been quite pleased with the results. The line is oil-free so I don't break out but it moisturizes really well (I have very dry skin that is prone to breaking out in pimples and sometimes cysts - go figure). I use the eye serum (on my entire eye area) and the daily whatever serum in that line (on my face and neck).

Having very dry skin that is prone to break out in awful pimples is a difficult situation but that regimen seems to do the trick for me.

OK- this is for anyone with REALLY deep wrinkles- I've been using the new Oil of Olay ProX line on my chest and OMG what a difference- it's only been a week and I am already seeing a difference. I know that the really deep wrinkles will never go away but I have to say the entire area looks less damaged.

Yes, it's expensive but I have to say it's worth it. I can't wait to see how things look after 8 weeks which is when it's supposed to be in full force.

I use Proactiv, DH does too. It works wonderfully, but is expensive.

I just got my Proactiv in the mail and did a once over wash, mask etc. I am excited to see if this finally works on my face.
                We shall see!

                  Oil of Olay ProX
Good Housekeeping rated this line very high. Once my current products run out, I'm going to try these.

You know, I tried so many things that I lost count. What I finally found that works for me is plain soap (no gasping please), followed by the Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Rev-er Upper (I think it's the glycolic acid that helps), and Vaseline. I know it sounds crazy, but my skin has never looked better. I can definitely tell when I skip a day. Oh and I only use that at night. I couldn't imagine having Vaseline on my face during the day.

I made the switch from Olay's Revitalist line and my Clinique Anti-Wrinkle to Olay's ProX.
I have the eye cream, the day age lotion w/ SPF 30, and the wrinkle smoothing night cream.
                        Amazing!
For cleansing, both DH and I use Olay daily facial cloths (and he uses the regular Olay moisturizer).
It was kind of hefty with the price, but I personally think it's more affordable than others and it has been worth every penny.

Ugh, no kidding! I remember my 20th birthday being so happy because being out of the teen years meant no more zits. Right? Wrong. *sigh*

KMC, I had a lot of luck with ProActiv also. Might be worth a try. What I've noticed from this thread and others we've had over the years is what works for one person, another one despises it. I currently use Retin-A, which doesn't do squat for my acne, but I have almost no wrinkles at 37.

Something else to try might be an aspirin mask. I got it off makeupalley.com and it works great for clogged pores. Crush a few aspirin and mix it with Queen Helene mint julep mask. Pretty drying, but works well.

                          Good luck!

So far Proactiv has been AWESOME! I am loving it and can't believe how well it is working. So happy with the results

I have been breaking out like it's going out of style in all of my problem places. Since having my hysterectomy in March my face is quite oily - I haven't experienced any other hormonal issues other than my oily face and breakouts on my chin.

I am just looking for what works for others so I can try it out and pray these gross breakouts go AWAY!

I have never really broken out...and then all of a sudden last year I started having blemishes of all kinds. I was miserable. I imagine it was hormonal. But, whatever the case, by chance I found Origins skincare (www.origins.com). That product line has been awesome with my skin. I started using Checks and Balances face wash...it's very gentle and has clay to help absorb oil in your skin. I use it twice a day. My blemish problem has cleared up..and if I have one that pops up I get the Proactiv Clay refining mask on ebay and use it as spot treatment. That will usually clear it up overnight. Hope this helps. It definitely has for me.

My face is almost completely blemish free!
