    I hadn't see the video before, but there are billboards up all over this area that show them - Believe is the theme of the signs. I think they have run something like 1000 races together.

      Not to be overly negative because I think it's SO inspiring but I read recently that the Hoyts marriage broke up over their running. His wife basically asked him to slow down and spend more family time together and he refused. While I think it's wonderful that he supports his son, I don't think you should sacrifice one relationship for another.

        The father admitted as much in an article in RW a few years back. Honestly, I don't know how people with families and/or jobs run more than one marathon a year. Training is just a time suck. Iron man training must be akin to a full time job.

          I completely agree. And this is why Iron Man training is banned in our house. We train for every marathon together (though this may change when we have kids...probably will have to) so that it's still time spent together. DH has already said he's going to train REALLY hard when I'm pregnant someday so he knows his true PR because right now we run together.
