I'm at -47.8 but I just can't seem to move my body below that. The weight loss is slower, which I understand, but I still have enough to lose that I can be safely losing 1-2 pounds/ week.

Any suggestions? I know the numbers aren't everything and I am thrilled that my clothes from last winter are baggy and loose. I just want to keep the weight loss mojo going.

I have to admit I've slowed on the walking. Maybe that is it?

-47.8 is no small feat! I wholeheartedly agree with what other people have said - you are looking great! I have no constructive advice...just wanted to give you props thus far!

The walking could be it. Each time I hit a stall, I increased the amount of water I was drinking and added some time onto the daily exercise. It just takes time, it is like our bodies have set weights that they like to stay at -- and those weights are not usually our goal weight! Just stick with your plan, keep exercising and I promise, the scale will move again. Plateaus are incredibly frustrating, but I've seen even the most stubborn plateau be broken.

      So, hang in there.

Have you tried a different activity? Sometimes our bodies get used used to a certain activity (walking for a particular distance/length of time on the treadmill) and begin to work more efficiently and you may not burn as much calories. I am no fitness guru - just talking from my own experience. Maybe take a class - yoga, zumba, pilates, whatever really that will shake things up and get different muscles working.

AND BTW Wow!! Congrats on the lbs lost!!!

Ditto medpedspouse - when your body gets used to a certain exercise you have to INCREASE the intensity to MAINTAIN the same calorie burning (which really stinks if you ask me - it seems like you are getting punished for working out ) but anyways have you tried walking with weights or sticks or trying a new exercise or video?

I've heard great things about that dancing exercise video (that many places do as a class) Zumba - I know that is how my weight watcher leader got over her plateau.

Keep up the great work - it is soooooooooooooo impressive! Awesome!

Shout out for Zumba. Don't know what it is about it but I can burn waaaay more calories than I ever have in jazzercise, step aerobics, etc.

                What helped me through plateaus:

Carrying a picture of myself at plateau (for you: DOWN 47!!) alongside a before pic. It helped keep me going. Seriously, you are rocking this weightloss and you will get to your goal weight!

Some great ideas. Thanks!!! I do think I've gotten bored with the walking and that it isn't doing the same for my body anymore. I like the idea of a dance video and am going to check out the Zumba. I have a ballet video that I got last year at Christmas time but it was too difficult for me when I tried it. It might be a good motivator to try it again. I bet it would be easier now!

Also, I have been drinking a lot of diet rite...I'll try switching to water this week!

                  Thanks again!!!!!

Fartleking? Like a bunch of fartleking fartlekkers? That is hilarious.

Your progress is amazing, Kris. I know you will topple this plateau like you have with the others.
