  • Work out/ Diet plan

So I have started to workout and diet again.I slacked off during the holidays. I took a pic of before and plan to take a pic every month to see progress. WISH ME LUCK

I'm starting too! Maybe we can keep each other honest. I'm planning on yoga or elliptical each day in addition to my dog walk (cut short by the snow) and a modified "South Beach"-sh diet. How about you?

I am starting the Couch to 5K plan. I tried the first workout yesterday. Epic fail. So, instead of Week 1, Day 1, I'll be doing Week 0, Day 1. I have to work up to couch potato status.

As for diet....well, one thing at a time. Try to eat less and better I guess, but I am going to try to focus on the exercise first.

I'm back on the weight watchers wagon.....

i did that 2 years ago--it's good. That first 2 mile run is killer, though. I'm happy to say I finished it and I run 5ks regularly now! (I could barely barely finish a mile before)

No I never got the P90x DVD from a friend of mine, so i have been doing free weights, and as soon as our basement is put back together (3 months now) i will be on the bowflex again. I did cut my calories and sugars so that should help. I took the pic it wasn't pretty!!

I would love for someone to keep my accountable. Hopefully the pics will be motivation, all the experts say to do that, so you can see results even if you can't on the scale. Maybe that will help me from getting discouraged.

Did you do a "Biggest Loser" style pic? Did you take it yourself or did YH take it? I like this idea better than the scale!

It does--I just compared some of my p90x pics and though I don't think I lost a pound, I'm starting to see definition, and slowly but surely, those love handles are shrinking!

I just started P90x and it is kicking my assets. Literally, my butt hurts. And my abs and my...

I also just joined the Y today. We are lucky (or not) enough to qualify for a super reduced monthly rate.

Since C will have speech therapy 2x/week, I am planning on going after I drop him off at school. If nothing else, to run on the tread mill. I am in such horrible shape and desperately want to get back to a size 8. Which is what I was before Sophie.

DH and I are both trying to lose a crap load of weight by graduation. No sugar or bread. And lots of Wii Active.

Well. I managed one day. How pathetic is it that I'm proud?

I'm just trying to manage the sweets and bread for now. I went back to the coffee (decaf) as a crutch for the sweets. I ate a HUGE amount of lean turkey with avocado. This morning, I had a huge bowl of oatmeal. I'm trying to sub in better "treats" until I get a hang of this diet thing again.

I also have a serious sweet tooth! Sweets are my downfall. A good sub I have found is sugar free Jello with whipped cream on top. The whipped cream hardly has any sugar.

Thanks for the tip. I always have Jello around because my son (who is skinny as a rail but eats NOTHING but sugar as far as I can tell) lives on the stuff. I should have figured that was a good treat. I'm rather severely lactose intolerant so I'd have to skip the whipped cream.

For awhile, I managed to eat mostly lean meats, legumes and veggies. I lost a lot of weight without doing much more than that. (I'm already pretty active.) I wish I could get the that place again. Once I beat the cravings, it was easy to maintain the healthy diet.
