Anybody on the new program. Just another reminder of how much I suck at change. I absolutely hate it. I am 3 pounds from my goal weight and I am so irritated that the points values of all my foods have changed. Grr.... just wondering if anyone else is feeling my frustrations.

They changed how points are calculated. Instead of using: calories, fiber, and fat, they are now using: fiber, fat, carbs, and protein.

Most veggies AND fruits are zero points.

My problem is mental more than anything. Essentially I get 10 more points a day, but my favorite 1 pt snacks went from 1 to 3 points so mentally I feel like I am being punished for choosing carbs.... even though I should probably be focusing on the fact that fruit is now "free."

I have no doubt that it works, but I just feel like the old way worked just fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've been doing it on and off for 2 years now and its frustrating to have a totally new point system!

I lost close to 60 lbs on the old system. I liked that way a lot. I didn't like Momentum very much, and I'm currently not doing WW right now (it drops my milk supply drastically) but I'll be taking it up again post-weaning. Are ALL fruits free? Berries too? There a vast difference in caloric value in fruits...and technically aren't tomatoes fruits?

I haven't found a fruit that isn't free (strawberries, blueberries, cherries, melons even bananas, as long as their fresh). And the veggies that aren't free are peas, corn, and potatos.

Is the idea to push unprocessed foods - hence the free veggies and fruit?

Marissa - if you are so close, and it was working for you, why not just stick with the old values? Losing weight is horrible - you guys have more will power than I!

I lost and gained the same 15 pounds doing WW. Mostly because it didn't really help my eating habits (my fault) and I couldn't imagine a world where I counted points forever. And I would need to. I've been tracking through Sparkpeople.com now.

I actually like the new plan now because I think I am making better food choices. It was just a mental hurdle to get over. Before fruit had points (large apple =2, banana =2 etc.) so I found myself reaching for certain 100 calorie packs that were only 1 point INSTEAD of fruit. Now that I've filed my fridge with fruits and veggies, and gotten over the fact that my 100 calorie cinnamon hostess cakes are now 3 points, I tend to reach for the fruit instead since its zero points.

Its an adjustment but it has me reaching for more fruits and veggies, and lean proteins, rather than just low calorie snacks. So I do think in the end it will be helpful... but I just don't adapt well to change!

That's good to hear. Do you get a point guide like the old one?

There is a small easy guide that gives the points of common foods in with your weigh-in log, but I also bought the dining out and complete food companion. I think I read on another thread you are gonna do it on your own since your Mom is joinging...so does that mean your gonna do the new program?

I dunno - we have the old food guide and the points calculator slider thingy which is easy enough to use. I guess I will see what she brings home when she starts.

I just logged in for the first time sinc it changed. I haven't been consistently following it for a which but log on almost weekly for recipes. Of course with it being the new year I am all geared up to go full force. I am annoyed that certain points went up, but he overall concept seems to make nutritional sense...just an adjustments. I do think it is good that they took the time to analyze what they are doing and update it as needed when it is time.

I'm back in the game!! And honestly, I am not even coming close to my allotted points (still nursing) but carefully watching the milk supply. This is week one. Although I am *technically* a "Lifetime member" I have a lot of baby weight to drop. With rotations & lack of family in town, regular meetings are out, so I am doing it online. We'll see, I really liked the meetings.

How is it going for everyone? (Who is still on it?)
