I've been doing it since November. The fist 10 lbs melted off. I've kind of been stuck for the past two months - loosing and gaining the same 2 lbs. I think that the issue is with me and how I respond to stress rather than a problem with the program. We'll see how I do tomorrow at the weigh in.

        Crystal-
I have a question about the points for nursing. The phamphlet that they gave me said to add in 7 points once your baby is over 6 months and eating solids. Mine is 12 months and on almost all table food. She nurses to sleep for her nap and at bedtime. I'm not sure if I should keep the 7 bonus points or if I should drop them. I think our babies are about the same age. What are you doing? I asked at my meeting - but all of the workers are older and weren't sure.

Are you doing the PointsPlus? I am new to that program, but I became a Lifetime member using Points. The online version gives me a total of 36 points I think (or close to that) and I think our kiddos are close to the same age and I am still nursing, although dd also eats solids. This is my first week, so I am still experimenting with the points and new program. My concern is that when I dieted before, my supply was the first thing to drop along with pounds (which is why I stopped trying and waited until she was not relying on me for all of her food).

Okay to answer your question - It is obvious that you are in a plateau and you need to change something to kick start your loss again. When I did it before, I would adjust my points as needed, to accommodate my body's needs. So, my suggestion would be to drop some of the extra points that nursing allots you. Remember, no size plan fits ALL nursing mothers. The 7 extra is a standard, and it is probably generous to accommodate mothers who nurse all the time and if you aren't that number might be a bit high for you and your amount of nursing. I think you'd be fine to modify your points down enough to start losing weight, but maintaining enough extra to make milk. Maybe try dropping some of the 7 and see how that affects your supply and your hunger. If I were you (and I'll probably be there in a month or so), I would play with dropping some of the points, maybe 3 or 4 of those and see if I could sustain my supply. As a side note - I found I'd hit a plateau when I was not drinking enough water.

Good luck! Please let me know how it goes.
