I have a lot of clients who do Crossfit, and love it. For the most part, it has changed their lives for the better. Crossfit is different than P90X in that Crossfit competitors have weekly competitions against each other, and there are "Crossfit Games" held all over the country.
The downside is you can easily injure yourself with all the heavy lifting, so you need to be extra careful.Married to a peds surgeon attending

OMG I can't even do 1 pull up
You seriously might look into P90X. I did it and did like it. I'm thinking of doing it again after the baby is born because it is easy to do from home. Nothing works if you aren't eating right with it, though...
Please tell me that the whole "breastfeeding helps you lose weight" isn't a myth!Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

My sister swears by Turbofire - she has lost 12 inches in the last few months, I can't wait to see her next week.
I would love to do a boot camp if I could find a time to do it without the kids but I think she's going to copy her Turbofire and I'll start there since I gave up my gym membership.Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

I have a good friend who loves turbofire. She says it's actually fun, not like p90x. (she and I share a mutual hate for Tony Horton, so we got annoyed with p90x very quickly). She's kind of plateaued recently, but I'm not sure if it's because of the workouts or her diet.I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Turbofire is done by Chalene Johnson who also did Chalene Extreme. One is more cardio and the other heavy weights. I prefer the one with heavy weights but all her products are great and she is a ton of funTara

I couldn't do pull-ups when I was skinny. Now I think my body would crash to the floor and leave my arms hanging on the bar.
If my DH sent me that email I would kick his ass into the next century. I hope your SO is totally into fitness himself and this was just a bumbling way to get you involved.

If my dh says "are you going to the gym tonight" it's bc he wants to go and he knows I hate going at night bc I can't sleep after exercising. But just cuz I'm a brat I say "oh so you think I'm fat?". I think that's the natural extention when a dh asks the dw if she's going to work out. No matter what the dh intends!!Peggy
Aloha from paradise! And the other side of training!

Ahhh. I missed that. Oh, Chris, when did we say we were starting? I'm hitting my first Zumba class today. If DH comments even on the house I hit the roof, btw. If he told me to lose weight I'd probably get so upset that I'd comfort myself with a quarter pounder with cheese and fries!~Mom of 5, married to an ID doc
