So far, so good. Once I got past day 3, it seems like my hunger disappeared. Yesterday, I kept forgetting to eat. I think what I like about this program is that the meals are pre-packaged and easy for me to prepare and that they have hearty meal options. I am not a big sweets eater and so I stocked up on Chicken soup, chili, etc. I get a specially formulated oatmeal for breakfast, 2 soups at lunch time and a salad/meat for dinner. That leaves me two other snacks during the day. Yesterday, I only managed to eat 1 other snack. I was so busy and just not hungry.

I fell behind on the walking/running in recent months but started to get back at it about 2 weeks ago. So far, I am down a total of 9 pounds. At the beginning, I experienced certain water weight. The real bummer? My engagement ring fell off my finger....I can't find it anywhere. It's just gone. Now, my rings are fitting me a little more normally again. I'm not worried about the other ones falling off at this point. I still think there's water weight loss, but I also thing there is loss-loss.

In any case, I tentatively say "so far-so good" knowing that keeping going is within my control only ... and so I don't want to get complacent!

I'm so sorry to hear about your ring! I went last week and bought the clip on ring sizers from Walmart because my wedding ring was falling off when I was doing laundry.

9 pounds in how many days?? That is great!! I've been stuck at my weight for a few days. You motivating me girly!!

Alright...so week one is officially over and today I start week 2.

I lost a total of 11.6 pounds last week.

Don't fall over ... it's probably all water weight. Also, I have a lot to lose, so this might explain why it came off more quickly this first week.

I expect to slow to 1-2 pounds/week now. I'm still happy to be back on track in terms of my weight loss. This brings me within 2 pounds of being back to my 50 pound loss. That happiness alone (even if this is just a lot of water weight is encouraging and motivating to me. Like I said though, I expect that now the weight loss will stall to a slow crawl. The food plan is completely doable for me though. I feel satisfied with my choices and not hungry at all. I actually had to force myself to have two more little packets last night before bed because I had forgotten to eat them during the day. I don't want to be unhealthy about it.

You are inspiring me! I've been working out hardcore, but have gotten comfy with my bad eating choices. I'm sugar's bitch, and we need a divorce...

11+ pounds of WW? Hum. Not so sure about that. Is that normal for you? Unless you are over 300 pounds I can't imagine you have 11+ pounds of WW. I think those are mostly real weight loss pounds! You are doing wonderful, just stick to the plan and see where it takes you. So proud of you!

Thanks. I do notice a difference in my clothes. When I started this past week I was 100 lbs from my ideal weight and 40 pounds down still from my highest weight. Ill be happy if I lose 40 more. Anything else would be awesomeness.

Kris, how is the food? Decent? I'm thinking of trying one of these plans. I need a kick start myself. I need to lose 20 lbs to get back to my low, and then another 15 for my goal. I'd need to lose 20 more than that for my "ideal" which I have no interest in.

                      Heidi,

I really can't speak much to the taste. My taste is so off due to the neuropathy that I am satisfied and content, but know that I'm not tasting what I might have tasted a year ago. I am experiencing more loss on the top of my tongue right now actually, with tongue peeling and enlarged taste buds. It's so freakin' bizarre.

I am more than happy to send you some samples. I know I have your address somewhere, but message it to me again. I just am too disorganized right now to dig through things to get to it.

I personally am glad that there are hearty options like soups and chili etc.

Since I'm allowed 5 shakes/soups/bars/pancakes each day, I have gotten into the habit of making two soups for myself for lunch or two oatmeals for breakfast if I'm hungry instead of having one and then another snack a couple of hours later.

What is surprising me on this diet is that I'm starting to feel depressed about missing my old food companions. I know that probably sounds freaky to people. I MISS my comfort foods. If I'm feeling upset, I actually feel tearful because I'm not able to soothe myself in that way. Clearly, I've defined a factor that I need to work on to maintain my weight loss and make sure that I'm eating in a way that is healthy for me and am also dealing with stress in a more healthy manner.

Kris, this sounds completely normal. I go through the same thing, I wish more than anything that I were a person who dealt with stress with exercise. Food is my friend too and I miss it frequently. ((hugs))
