  • exercise ideas?

I get bored doing the same thing all the time and I find that my body plateau's pretty quickly if I don't change it up frequently. What do you do to keep it interesting?

I found this site today and I am hoping that it helps. After Sophie, I have retained a bit more belly fat than I did before... http://randomabs.com/today/

I don’t know why but I am never able to stick to a regime. Already, I have to force myself to exercise daily and if I will do the same patterns every day, then nobody could stop me from excusing myself from the physical activity. I have scheduled different exercises for first three days and then repeat in order the other days.

Are you at a gym or at home? If at a gym like I am, I try different classes and change it up each week...except for yoga (I do that one religiously). For cardio I also move around from machine to machine. Right now I am doing 10min elliptical, then 10 min treadmill and 10 min spin bike. Once I get used to that, I'll change the order or replace it with the stairclimber, etc. If you are at home, you could try different workouts on ITunes or borrow dvds from your local library. P90X is not my type of workout but their premise is to engage different muscles/confuse the muscles so you don't plateau. So, they must be onto something about changing things up - I just get bored easily.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I'm doing it all at home. We have a treadmill and a recumbent bike, so there are at least some options. I struggle to find a DVD that pushes me hard enough to make me really want to do it.

If anyone needs a fitocracy invite, I only have a few left... http://www.fitocracy.com/home/

It is like a fitness game... you log your workouts and get points, level up and complete fitness quests...I really like it, but I made the mistake of inviting my coworker who is ridiculously fit and does crazy workouts everyday!

I hadn't heard of fitocracy, but it seems really cool. Do you have to have access to a gym to be able to complete the quests? If not, I'd love to try it out if you still have an invite left.

Sure, PM me your email address. No, gym is not necessary... I completed one recently "Do 20 crunches" and another "Record 10 activities in one week"... a gym is helpful, but I do all of my workouts at home and I am *slowly* gaining points and levels. Another quest: Run a mile in under 12 minutes...

I feel like a hamster on the treadmill but started Zumba and love it! I get my cardio but it's also fun and a nice way to meet people without awkwardness. I also got the Turbo Jam dvds and they got me through my plateau...
