  • Apple cider vinegar

    I wasn't sure where to post this, but figured since this is also a "health" forum that this was as good a place as any.

    Does anyone take apple cider vinegar for health reasons? I would love to hear about your experiences.

    I bought myself some Braggs a while back, but never got the courage to try it. Curious to hear the responses.

      I do about 2x a month. Right before my cycle, and if I have a particular day when I feel sluggish or toxic. Great for cleanses!

        How is this vinegar taken? And why should one do this?

        Clearly I'm not up on this trend!!!

          When I was a kid, my mom used to make me drink apple cider vinegar (about 1 or 2 T, mixed with apple juice or water) when I had a sore throat. Supposedly apple cider vinegar is great for your health, along with fermented Kombucha drinks, but it's seriously disgusting and makes me gag... so I only drink it when I feel myself coming down with a sore throat, and I have to hold my nose while I gulp it down.

            I do 1 or 2 tbs myself in water also, Liisi.

            The molasses/ACV combo, right before your cycle, apparently helps with cramping/bloating.
            ACV, in water, acts as a diuretic - great for irregularity. So much TMI, but I'm a pretty regular girl without it - I use it only if I'm feeling kinda toxic (akin to accidentally being "glutened") and want something to move faster out of my system.

              It's supposed to help with your skin and weight issues too from what I've heard. I drink lemon water every morning, which is supposed to do the same and I can't stand ingesting apple cider vinegar.

                  Yup - supposedly has all kinds of health benefits but I buy because I love braggs. Use it in salads, salsas, dressings, sauces, and stews all the time. The only time I take it alone is when I have heartburn - it does work. I take a tablespoon. You are supposed to mix it with water but I take it straight.
                  Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

                    I also heard that apple cider will help you loose weight so I decided to take this vinegar though it has unpleasant taste. I put two tablespoons of vinegar in a 220 ml of water and usually I take this before meal. Will let you know if there's any improvement on my weight.
