Moonlight, I hear you! I'm so dreading the upcoming holidays with SO's family - I'm too introverted to spend three solid days socializing with ANYONE (and we have to sleep in the living room, so we don't even have a door we can close!), never mind people whom I have only met once (or never, in the case of some of them) and who don't really want me there... ugh. I'm seriously considering trying to get 3 happy pills to bring with me.

But anyway. I take a ton of supplements already. I second the suggestions of vitamin D and fish oil/omega-3. Also, try Rescue Remedy pastilles. They're homeopathic anti-anxiety lozenges. Honestly, I'm not sure if they "work" - it might just be the placebo effect for me, but the placebo effect itself is strong and powerful. A few years ago when I took a handstands class and was terrified of handstands, I'd sit in the corner of the room and take a dose of Rescue Remedy before kicking up into my handstand... and it helped!!

The company Mountain Rose Herbs has great products... I'm thinking of trying this tincture called "Mood Care extract," which has the following description: "Formulated with herbs commonly used to create a feeling of euphoria to help take the edge off of a stressful day.
Contains: Organic and Wildharvested Kava Kava, Gotu Kola, Passionflower, Ginger, Wild Lettuce and Organic Grain Alcohol. Alcohol content: 55%."
http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/extract/combin.html They also have a "Joy Tonic" and a "Chocolate Elixir."

I might try straight up Kava Kava tea... it affects everyone differently. When I've had it in the past, it has made my body really relaxed, but simultaneously, it made me more mentally energetic, and chatty/social. But it also makes my tongue feel half numb. Very weird stuff.

Just wanted to send hugs to everyone who's struggling this month. Jeez, holidays take a lot out of everyone...I'm a fan of adult milk and cookies-Xanax and wine.
