  • Cleanse (or short term reset diets) support

Today I started a three day juice cleanse. So far, bleh. I'm not a fan of veggie juices. The good news is I'm not starving yet. I haven't worked out today but I may go to a yoga class this afternoon. I'm not feeling any weakness really. It's an 1100 calorie a day program of juices, so honestly, I should be able to work out. I'm usually trying to maintain a 1200-1400 calorie a day program when dieting and I do work out vigorously.

I am hoping I can make it through the three day program. My goal is simply to reset my BAD eating habits and my taste for sugar/carbs and all things that make me bloated and starving. You know, my favorite foods. LOL

Wish me luck! I may do a little "cleanse journaling" here to keep me busy. I figure keeping busy will keep my hands off of food for the next 3 days!!!!!

Juice One: Pineapple Goji was delicious. Well received. 10 am
Juice Two: Cucumber, celery, and parsley. Ummm. Not delicious. But not awful. Just tastes like a LOT of cucumbers. I had trouble finishing it. 12 noon

I sure hope the almond milk, lemon zest and the beet juices are good. There is a "mean green" kale based one that is on par with the cuke juice. Like a liquid salad. I've had it before after yoga class. I don't love it. Maybe all the hate for the veggie flavors will reverse with this though. I clearly have a major sweet tooth.

        Godspeed!!! You can do it!

(you already sound like you're handling it better than me - I'm a big protein for breakfast person, and I just could not get going when I didn't have that).

Juice 3: Mean Green-- Cucumber, Celery, Romaine, Kale, Spinach, Lemon and Parsley. Dear God. I may never taste sugar again. *sob*
This one tastes like a LOT of celery. Slightly spicy, again no.damn.sweetness.

4 pm and I'm starting to get grumpy. I'm planning on staying home tomorrow and working all day so I don't hurt anyone.

Are you allowed to add ginger to any of them? While I did eventually tire of that taste, the juice cleanse I did included a lot of ginger, and I think it covered much of the bitter flavor that can come with parsley, celery, etc.

Yeah, ginger and lemon always helped

I cant do the veggie juices without some fruit in there.

I made sure to go to bed at about 9 - except for the night DH invited people over - it helps! You'll feel great again in the morning!

The almond milk (mine was cashew - so im just assuming they are similar) is like heaven. Sweet and filling - so you have that to look forward to!

I sucked on ginger and drank lemon water. I would have died without it.

After two totally green juices, I'm scared of the beet juice!! I'm guessing it's sweet though. Beets are sweet, right? There's carrot in it too. I'm honestly not too hungry but drinking those two totally green juices was like choking down medicine.

I do like veggies -- I just must like them with salt. Or sugar. Or.... butter.

I think tomorrow will be the hardest day. Seems like day two KILLS with most people I've spoken to.

I have thought about doing a cleanse but you guys are scaring me. I may have to wait until I can take a few days off and sit at home and cleanse.

Sorry if this is TMI but how do the health benefits differ from doing a juice cleanse vs getting ready for a colonoscopy? Both clean you out right? I think I would rather just get through it in one day.

Day 2 was hard, but you'll be ok. The morning was great - but that wore off. By early evening I was literally hallucinating. I Also had to go to whole foods to prepare for our little party, which almost killed me. Don't go grocery shopping or prepare any food for your family, ha

Well it's morning and I do feel great! No caffeine craving. Weird. Update: the beet juice disappointed. Cashew milk was good.

DH and I were considering doing one after we get back from vacation next week but they're so expensive!

Yes - the cost is CRAZY for the premade juices. I ended up following some advice I found online to just buy as I go. Good thing, because yesterday I ended up skipping one of the six juices. I won't have it today either. I also choked down one -- so I ended up just buying the three of the six that I liked this morning. I've had two. I'm saving the cashew milk for dinner. I know I'm sacrificing vitamins, but I'm not totally doing this for the vitamins.

mps- I'm not having any bowel changes with this at all except for the expected decrease in function. I'm not taking anything in. But, I've never had any bowel issues so I don't think I have anything to "clear". I sometimes wonder if people aren't attracted to "cleanses" as well because they are constipated! Not me on that count.

So.... here's my weird symptom. My jaws are killing me. They ache. I have a bit of TMJ, but it usually doesn't bother me much. I hope the jaw pain subsides soon. I must NEED to chew.
