I tried making a new thread in PT/OT but it didn't work.

With the exception of one site (factoring in a big drive), the fitness program I utilize here 4-5 days a week doesn't exist where we are looking in FL. In fact, there appears to be nothing similar.
I always said that I'd like to transition over to Crossfit, but I guess I'll be doing that sooner rather than later.

Questions: how do I pick a good group? What am I looking for in fees/schedule/leadership?
Will they take me if I'm pregnant? Do they work with post-partum women and allow for potential modifications?
Is there a different fitness program I should consider as a SAHM to (eventually) multiple children, so I can include them?

    Thanks, brain trust!

Have you checked out the WOD Shop for at home workouts?

    wodshop.org

I haaaaate working out with other people, so this website is ideal for me. You can enter in whichever equipment you have (or none) and it will generate workouts for you. If you're unsure of technique or jargon, they explain it and have loads of videos.

I just started Crossfit a couple months ago. Love it! I went to a place nearby that offered beginners classes for free. The hook for me was that the place had free childcare (aka a girl who plays on her phone while several kids hang out for an hour.) I have never heard of any other Crossfit places offering childcare. This was the only way I could go. They offer classes throughout the day with the 6 am and evening classes being the most popular. I hit the 9:30 class which has a handful of moms and a token male who leaves work to exercise. This particular place has a great community vibe and the owner and primary instructor are very knowledgeable. They stress proper form a lot and modify activities when necessary. The main crowd tends to be on the younger side compared to me and there are some groupies which can be annoying because they like to hang out. I only run into them on the weekends. One thing I am really enjoying is that they have a nutritionist and we are in the midst of a clean eating challenge. I have a hard time doing that on my own since my family isn't on board with it. I love that the work outs are different everyday. I haven't seen a pregnant person at my location, but I would absolutely continue doing something during pregnancy that I had done previously, checking with your OB of course. I pay $100 per month and that covers three times a week. I can't speak to any other places, but I have found Crossfit to be fun and a great work out.

The CF gym that DH used to belong to charged $300/mo, which I thought was ridiculous. However, the classes were very small, the owners/trainers were exceptionally knowledgable, it included as many classes as you wanted, and they were to totally fine if people had to bring in kids. One of my closest friends attended while pregnant and only stopped when she began feeling too tired and uncomfortable to continue. They were really great about adjusting everything for people, too.

I'd like the option of an unlimited membership, group classes, possible child care if the classes are during times where I am with the kids, and not to break our bank account.

We have a CF gym in our house and I can guarantee ALL of those amenities. Along with some post work-out wine.

See? Heidi isn't the only one who can recruit like a mofo...

DH has suggested I might also try keeping my current membership, and have them send me their workouts via e-mail so I can do them on my own. That's an option, but I'd rather have someone around to watch/correct my form, and challenge me.

It may be time for Crossfit. :-O

So I started to look at things to motivate me post baby. A crossfit studio opened .25 miles from my house. Checked the pricing--$100/month. For now. It's going up.

HOLY CRAP THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY! Are they all this expensive?

$300/mo isn't unheard of for CF gyms. Classes are typically very small, so it's like taking a class with a personal trainer all over you.

That's a pretty good price, too.
