My non-CF gym is $95/month. Totally worth it for the small classes and individual attention. I think $150 is the average around here for CF.

Wow. You are!!! That's an amazing deal - really hoping you get to stay where you are for residency.

The only crossfit gym I've been to was $220/mo for unlimited classes (and that included any additional lectures etc). I think it was $25/class otherwise. It's honestly about the same I pay for any kind of fitness studio - I'd say $150-300 for unlimited yoga, barre, crossfit type classes is pretty standard. Pilates (reformer) never has had an unlimited option - that's generally 200-300/mo for twice a week.

The only nice thing about the super expensive unlimited packages are that they really motivate me to go - sort of the same effect as having a trainer. Right now I've been buying 10 class packages at yoga, and I can easily convince myself that today isn't a good day, and I'm better off saving the class for tomorrow when I will have more energy.... But then I only end up going once or twice a week. That said, I hate that so many studios make you sign up way In advance - pure barre in particular - I have no idea whether I can make a 545 class next Wednesday. The crossfit gym I went to was similar. And then They had like a $20 fee for missing a class (I do understand that could have sold the spot to someone else, but it still pisses me off - since I already paid for unlimited classes).

It's still pretty expensive for DFW.

The fancy schmancy gym with all the extras, childcare, and unlimited classes my parents belong to (Lifetime Fitness) I believe is about $50-60 for an individual membership. The one I belong to is a rec center owned by the city, which is why it is so cheap.

Our LA fitness is only like $40/mo, which is a great deal compared to the last two "big gyms" I've gone too. The classes are much bigger though, so you don't get the same level personal attention that you get in the small grp training sessions at the little studios.

The two crossfit gyms here are 75/mo for 3x week classes, the other is 100/mo for the same. 125 for unlimited.

Be careful on the clean and jerk move!! I nearly broke my nose the first day. Holy BALLS that hurt!!!!! It's so much fun, though, and there is a true sense of camaraderie among the members.

This is my pet peeve, too! My Barre3 classes cost $20 to $25 each depending on the package I buy, but I have to schedule them way in advance to ever get in. I thought yesterday about going this upcoming weekend, and they were already completely sold out!
