My 2014 weight loss *blog*

This has just been a really hard week. I have gained and relost the same 1.5-2 pounds all week long ... and today, for no reason, I am up again. I am eating prepackaged meals to absolutely be certain about my calorie content. I am at ~1300 or so per day. I feel constantly hungry. I eat breakfast and 30 minutes later ... hungry. Yesteday, I had lunch at 1 on campus. I was ravenous all afternoon and sat studying/watching therapy video feeling miserable I was so hungry. By the time I ate, I was so hungry I couldn't stand it (and that was with 2 cheese sticks as snacks in the afternoon). I had dinner at 5 and was hungry by 5:30. It isn't simply being hungry. It's that miserable, 'must eat now' feeling that picks a fight with your brain and demands to be satisfied. I was tough and stuck to it. Still, I was up the 2 pounds again this morning.
I simply can't believe it. I feel depressed about it and like I'm watching a replay of the last time I tried to lose weight. It does not seem possible that I have now worked so hard to limit my calories and I keep seeing no real movement on the scale.
I'm sick of being fat though. So now I'm angry at myself and I hate thin people. Works for me.

When I read your post, my first thought was ... are you drinking enough water? I've noticed that if I'm gaining/losing the same couple of pounds it's usually water weight. I'd suggest drinking lots and lots (and lots!) of water! I don't know how much sodium is in those prepackaged meals that you're eating, but it could be that it's enough to cause your body to retain and hold onto water. Drinking more water could help flush out the excess fluids.
I'm sorry it's such a struggle!~Jane

I think I am going to get rid of my scale. (And continue to hate skinny women )
Bottom line is I have to keep going forward. Eventually, the weight will come off. I was feeling cranky, so I upped the amount I'm eating a little. There is no sense in being miserable. Ever.
