  • Holiday Challenge

Alright ... those of you out there working on getting/staying fit ... the holidays are upon us.

Lets come up with a challenge to get through the holidays without gaining weight.

I've been working on going to the Y and trying not to endulge in the chocolates, cakes, and treats that I've been offered. It's so hard!!!

Who's in? Let's just post challenges and encourage each other.

    I am in.

My weaknesses are the salty snacks. I can say no to sweets but offer me something salty and I am all over it to later puff out like a blowfish.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I'm in! I'm not "dieting" per se, but I'm trying my hardest to stay away from cookies and other treats this year. Anything I can do to stay on track has to help!

Hidden calories in booze gets me and wine has to go with cheese right?

Need to be nominated driver a lot.

I've gained back everything plus since leaving for my sisters, eating out with her, not working out, having my ILs here for almost three weeks and not working out.

Today is my first day back in the gym. I don't have time, but I can't afford not too. I need to start running.

We have DH's Christmas party tonight. I saw some tips on the morning show yesterday for surviving the holiday parties.

          1) wear tight clothes
          2) be last in the food line because the food looks picked over and less appetizing
          3) use the small plate, and only one plate
          4) don't stand next to the hor dourves-too easy to grab and munch
          5) drink spritzers-half wine half sparkling water/soda to reduce calories consumed drinking

I think I saw the same show. I'm wearing my tightest pants to a holiday party to test the theory out.

Today I drank 400 calories of almond milk eggnog without even really thinking about it. Oops. #holidaychallengefail!

I started a "couch to 5K" workout yesterday. I've honestly been scared of it for a year - I'm just not a runner. I did it yesterday and today and feel great about it!

5K Runner on my iPhone. I'm also doing a push-up program, sit up program, and squats program (I THINK all by the same app developer). Baby steps.

I'm in! It's going to be all about cookie avoidance for me. I love them and my mom takes it personally whenever I decline (sigh). Bad, bad combo.

I slipped on ice last night and severely sprained my ankle So much for getting back into the workout routine. I can't fully bear weight right now. I'm so annoyed with myself.
