  • Types of exercise

I joined the LDW fitness group on Facebook when I started working out a few weeks ago. People list their workouts everyday. It's given me ideas of things to try. Right now I alternate between Jillian Michaels 30 day shred part one and Classical Stretch with a little yoga when I feel like it. I have a bunch of Classical Stretch dvd's that I got from my mom and the Jillian Michaels workouts are free on YouTube. Lots of people seem to like T25 but it's not free on YouTube so I haven't tried it yet. What kinds of exercise do you do?

Right now: a class a day, averaging an hour, on YogaGlo. I'm in the free trial period, but it's $18/mo for a subscription, and I can get it in at any time of the day or night. Well filmed, nice variety. (I should add that I am a beginner)

I also pay for 2x Fit4Mom membership, which is a HIIT/Flexibilty/Bodyweight mashup that I can take small people to.
It's not the least stressful option, but it fits my needs and allows socialization with other women who are trying to figure out this whole Mom thing, too.

In the future, I see yoga at a studio, or maybe personal training, but that's a long long way off (and much more costly).

Depends on my goals. Right now my goal is improved cardio endurance, and improved health of my bones and joints. So I move around through the day, and take a 30-45 minute brisk walk (13.5-15.5 minute pace) daily, trying to hit some hills most days.

Soon I expect to be ready to kick both goals up a notch, and go from just walking to jogging part of the time (maybe follow a 10k training plan, not sure), and to get some form of strength conditioning exercise regularly (just bodyweight stuff, and sprint intervals while jogging.)

5 mile-run on the treadmill each morning, push-ups, and 1-2 one-mile walks (walking kids to/from school each day). I need to do more strength training, but haven't gotten around to starting anything yet.

I'm doing orangetheory 3x a week. It's an hour long high intensity interval training workout. The goal is to run or bike in the trainer for 30 min on other days but it hasn't happened yet. I have DHs old magnetic trainer and he just got new rollers so we want to try an indoor ride together sometime

I run 3x per week and walk 2x per week. I need to add more variety, my upper body is so sad, but I can't justify the cost of yoga classes and hate doing it alone. I have some free weights but have no clue what to do with them. Anyone have any weight routines they've found that are short and easy to follow?

There are a ton of yoga workouts on YouTube. That's what I've been using. Amazon prime also has some.

Bittersweet, have you tried Turbo Jam? I got the DVDs (5 workouts on 2 discs) for less than $10 off Amazon. Charlene has a good weight workout on it that seems easy but you feel it after.

I've been dancing at a class once a week, then occasional dance parties in my pajamas at home, and alternating between Blogilates videos on YouTube and Turbo Jam workouts. And everyday I stretch for about 20 minutes.

                      Types of exercise

I jump around a lot. I have Turbo Jam, T25 and just bought Insanity Max30. I play tennis twice a week and have been hitting the gym a couple times on the other days. I like to run outside when the temps agree. I also love Crossfit but I haven't done it since I moved due an injury and childcare issues. I love it all, except yoga and spinning.
