So I know everyone recommends the Bob revolution, but my question is whether there is a cheaper stroller that will allow me to get jogging. I haven't run since before I was pregnant with DD, and right now the stroller is my only real way of working out. I have a city mini gt and i go for a lot of good long walks, but it isn't a jogger. I'm not much of a runner even without the stroller, so I don't want to spend a fortune on a jogger I might not use a ton, especially since I already have a stroller I love. Are there cheaper joggers that will work well enough? I'm hoping to score a good deal on craigslist but don't know which ones are going to be worth it.

At target right now if you buy a bob you get a seat for free. Might be worth it to sell second hand to reduce the cost of the bob

I'd just see what you can find on Craigslist or secondhand somewhere and go from there. If you end up not liking it and want to upgrade, you can probably sell it for what you paid for it. I've seen some decent looking baby trend ones?
That being said, I do love our Bob, but if it isn't going to get a whole lotta use, I'd start with something cheaper.Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

Try CL for a BOB. They do hold their resale value so it won't be cheap but it is by far the best. I'm the proud owner of a double AND a single BOB and I still use both. Singles are easier to find and way cheaper online. Often you can get a well loved one that is on the older side for relatively cheap.
And I use my BOB enough that it's my only stroller.Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)

I've seen a few Bobs on Craigslist, but they're still pretty expensive. I know they hold their resale value but don't really want to invest much upfront at this point. I'll consider it. I really love the size and maneuverability and ease of our City Mini so I don't want to replace it.Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

OK, I have found a Bob Revolution on craigslist in good shape for $150. I could go get it tonight. Tell me it's a good idea and I'm going to use it? I love my current stroller for everything but jogging. If I don't end up using the Bob I need to resell it. I have no idea if this is really going to get me running again but it's my only real opportunity. I also need new shoes if I'm going to start up again. It all feels very daunting but I want to get in shape...Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

You will be able to sell it for the same price you got it in my experience. Think of it as borrowing it if you don't use it.
Give it a couple of weeks. It's going to feel hard at first. Alternate running with power walking. Thirteen can give you some great tips!Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)

I know it's daunting!
If you're just getting started, I would get clearance from your doctor if you haven't already. Next step? Shoes. Go somewhere to a place they measure you and know what they're talking about. Be sure to let them know what you need in a shoe (all-around, walking, running, etc).
Start with walking, if you've never exercised before, or if your pelvic floor is weak. (Kegels and squats will help immensely).
If you're focused on a running regimen, an app like couch to 5K can help break down workouts and training schedules for you, so it's one less thing to think about.
What I wish people talked about more:
-Core strengthening/Pelvic floor work (so important, and so different after baby)
-Appropriate footwear for your chosen workout/build, etc. Yes, shoes can be an investment, but if the price tag is too daunting in the store, just shop around for a better deal.

I walk a lot and have run in the past, it's just been over a year since I wasn't totally in running shape when I got pregnant. I've never been great at sticking to a routine though, and usually run every summer and then give up when the weather gets cold. Which will likely hold true again this year since I'll have DD out there with me.Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

So the original BOB fell through, but today I scored a BOB Sport Utility Stroller. Bigger footprint than the Revolution, and harder to fold, but I don't plan for this to be my everyday, go anywhere stroller anyway. I'm not giving up my City Mini GT. So I'm pretty happy. It's older, but in good working shape. And nice and cheap! My dad is in town this weekend, but I'll try to get started after work next week!Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.
