Try the blocks to take pressure off your wrists and shoulders. I've been touring different prenatal yoga spots for months and just found a location and teacher I love.

I have used a strap and it helps, especially in that pose where you reach your hands behind your back with one elbow facing up and one elbow facing down.

I think part of the yoga competitiveness is because I can't believe I'm not able to do some of the stuff I could do at 20. Several years ago, I tried wake boarding and my then 13 year old son and nephew got up on the wake board a lot faster than my attempts. I did eventually get it, but it was a distinct marker that I'm not as young as I used to be. There is that elusive balance between pushing yourself and punishing yourself, sometimes I walk it perfectly and sometimes I don't. Clearly, that is why I need yoga, to let go. Letting go is not my strong suit.

I'm having fun with it. I don't know where this will take me, but it has been illuminating in many ways. By the way, all you runners out there, don't skimp on the stretching. It will show up when you turn 40 and decide to try yoga and 60 year olds are more flexible than you.
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

Don't fret just yet, houseelf!
I am the youngest person in my class, by 10-15 years, and the men and women come from all walks of life and inspire the hell out of me. Some are lifelong yogis, and others like me are new.
It's one of my favorite places.

Now I'm in a yoga class for my shortness of breath. This issue has just appeared 1 month ago and I still cannot determine what reason is causing it. I heard that yoga can help get rid of shortness of breath quickly. https://authorityremedies.com/home-r...ess-of-breath/ Anyone here gets the same problem as me? I also drink ginger tea daily.
