So I posted the NYT article to my Facebook and can anyone guess what happens? Oh yes, college friend who's clearly quit her job for MLM messages me for the first time in, to the month, a decade.
Let me guess...she sells Plexus?
Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

MAPPLEBUM sounds about right. I am doing insanity, and I had a beach body coach like 5 years ago so i tried to get into a fitness accountability group but of course she's not interested in "helping" me unless I'm purchasing something new.

Going from DINK to SI1K is making me very hesitant to spend money. So I'll drag my feet debating about WW and a gym membership for probably 6 months.

This cracked me up.

I have a dear friend that sells Plexus. Each day, there is a post about one concoction or another and this supplement and that. I want to make her a meal of real food, sit with her and coach her on tasting and chewing slowly. Guess what happens when she travels and gets away from her Plexus? Girlfriend gains weight back.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I've noticed that I really don't lose weight during my luteal phase, and then a couple days into my cycle I'll drop a pound or two overnight. I've just stopped weighing myself during my luteal phase, because it's depressing to work hard and see the scale stay the same.

Close, BeachBody!

I'm a jerk, I never responded. There was so little substance to her message I'm just not up for another round of awkward.
