  • Injury Time

Well with marathoning, it's only a matter of time until you get hurt through the months of training.

    And today is my time.

I majorly sprained my right achilles. As with all injuries, I tweaked it on a short run and then forgot about it until a mile into my 13 miler this AM. Major bummer. And because I'm oh so smart and stubborn, I kept right on running even though I should know better.

I got home 45 minutes ago and have already taken an anti-inflammatory and am icing. Any other suggestions? It hurts so much to stretch it because it's a tendon not a muscle.

    Thanks all!
Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.

Soooo sorry, this sucks. Are you going to see someone about it?

Please rest! And then rest some more. After that slowly start back.

    Best of luck.
