My goal is to run the Twin Cities Marathon in 2005! There, I've said it. If I lose five to ten pounds in training, so much the better.

I will start training in earnest in March.

        Sorry, long slow distance run.

I have to say that my ticker is a real kick in the pants that I need.

Awesome. I'd love to hear how training goes...how you gradually add distance! How your body reacts....

--4/5 - 1 mile recovery run. (would have run longer but stopping to pee threw me off my groove).
--4/8 7.5 mile run (ran part of the marathon course)
            --4/10--1 mile
--4/12--7 mile run (in the rain)

-4/14- 4 mile- this one made my joints ache. I can't believe I forgot how much I hurt all over when training.
-4/16- 8 mile- Ran at a fantastic pace in cool weather.
4/18- 3 mile- in sweltering heat
4/23- 9.5 mile - Had an epiphany during this run. I realized that I'm so scared of life and yet the best things in life require a "leap of faith". Note to self: embrace life as the adventure that it is and quite worrying so much.

I haven't posted my miles here in awhile, but you will notice a pattern here (weekend warrior, anyone?):

                Date--Miles
4/29 --7 Long Slow Distance ("LSD")
                4/30--1.5 recovery run ("rr")
                5/1-- 1.5 uninspired slacker run
                5/6-- 8 LSD
                5/7--2
                5/9--4
                5/15--8.5 LSD
                5/17--4.5
                5/21--9 LSD
                5/22--3
                5/23--3

I have my first race of the season on Sunday: A ten miler along the Mississippi, a portion of which is in the TCM. The following weekend I'm going to run a half.

Thanks you guys...I can't believe that you have subjected yourself to reading something this mundane.

I did indeed complete the *hilly* ten miler and ran the entire way except for two potty breaks. (Have I mentioned that two kids have wrecked my bladder? ) The good news is it wasn't that hard. The bad news is that I was really slow. (1 hour 53 minutes ....that is about 13 minutes longer than my pre-baby time).

This weekend: a half marathon. Yes, I'm getting in the races while I have childcare before DH returns to clinicals.

                      5/29--10 miles
                      5/30--2 miles
