I haven't posted in awhile because I've been slackin' off and doing "marathon training light" lately. Fortunately, that ticker of mine is givin' me a big kick in the pants.

I have a ten mile race scheduled on Saturday and I'm going to try to tack on some extra miles to get in a reasonable mid-distance run. Runnersworld just highlighted a three day a week marathon training program which really resonated with my running style and goals. Really, who needs to run more than thirty miles a week anyway?

Right now I'm in that funk of seeing all these humungous trainign runs looming ahead of me. Send your best motivation vibes my way. I could use them.

I hope to report a nice sizeable run by Monday. Wish me luck. I need it.

      Kelly-

      Go, go, go, go...

and by the way, where should we stay in the Twin Cities if, say, some of us showed up to be your athetic supporters?

My house is open to guest the weekend of October 2!

BTW, I did 14 miles on Saturday. I'm so glad that I signed up for the race because I knew that I would have the ten of the race course in the bag. (I mean, no one was going to pick my butt up off the course!) I tacked on another four at the end, and voila, I have a reasonable LSD run (finally!)

I also have been running tempo runs twice a week plus some light weights and cycling.

          Hooo RAH!

I was just looking at the course map and the elevation chart for the last 6 miles and thinking -- -- but then I looked at the corresponding elevation and see that it is only about a 100 foot gain. Phew.

I'm glad you got a 14 mile run in. That is great! You're on the way!

                Awesome Kelly!
I've been meaning to apologize for being so lame, but once again I'm not doing the marathon. Initially it was because dh and I were going to do the MS-150, but I've slacked too much to train for that, either.
So, I am planning on running another marathon, but probably not until this winter or spring.

Jenn, I'm going to need an athletic supporter too. I just got in on the Twin Cities 10 miler lottery!
Sue -- it's not too late. You can still buy your way into the 10 mile race:

Something about that line struck me as funny. Can you guess?

People, you all need to rent Grease again. "and remember, if you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter."

I'll catch you later at another one! Best of luck.
