  • Looking at the Fall events

I just got info from team in training about the Fall events people are training for locally. There's a walk/run full or half marathon in Columbus, OH. There's also an enticing century cycling event in Arizona in November. (Alison, you'll be there then, right?)

There are two people in our community fund raising now for TnT doing the Cleveland Half Marathon. They are both teachers, and are doing this in honor of a fellow teacher with cancer. They've done their fund raising by hosting some community events. They had to raise less money than I was quoted. Maybe because the event they are doing is local?

Anyway....I'm still thinking of pursuing this in the future. Anyone else still considering an event or actually training and fund raising now?

I have to confess that an brief image of a flopping belly (kinda like the boobs UK ad) flashed through my mind.

I'm training for a local event (Philadelphia Triathlon) and have to fundraise about half the amount that friends of mine doing the St. Anthony's Tri in FL had to raise. TNT pays for your transportation, lodging and to ship your bike. The event I'm doing is also more low-profile.
SOOOOO excited that it's finally warm enough outside to run and bike and actually GET SOMEWHERE. So sick of treadmills and stationary bikes. I like to enjoy the scenery as I excercise and looking out the 2nd floor window at the 2nd floor of the building across the street from my gym just doesn't do it for me.
So, is anybody else doing an endurance event this summer/fall?
