  • Any swimmers?

So, I threw myself in the swimming pool today- and man, my arms are going to hurt tomorrow. but once again, my feet cramped coming off the wall after a turn. Anyone out there a former swimmer who can offer any advice? It's really annoying because I'd love to find a Master's team but why bother if my feet cramp by a half mile. This NEVER happened until I hit my 30's...damned high heels ruined my feet.

I'm going to call my room-mate from college who swims miles and miles (like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Swim- for five years in a row, but now she does Ultra Marathons- for fun... and yes, this was the girl who weighed close to 300 pounds in college.)

and is anyone else out there a grown-up swimmer?

    Jenn

Drink gatorade before hand and eat a banana?

*sigh* those days of watching dh butterfly across the pool are gone forever. His current body type is much more 'fashionable' now from what I hear.

I'm a grown up swimmer too. I haven't been in the water recently due to no pool available, but I've never had pain from swimming. I stretch a ton and do some yoga ocasionally. Maybe stretching will help (includng your feet)?
