  • What have I gotten myself into?

Somehow, last night, I'm not sure how...I got myself into a 10K run. I have never done this before. I can't even run around the block, yet alone run 10K! Sure, I can walk...who can't walk 6 miles or whatever. But if I'm going to do a 10K, I'm running part of it....right? It's in December.

So here's the question, do you think that it's possible for someone who is of average height and weight, but no athletic ability (besides the $25 tony little gazelle I bought at a garage sale a month ago and use like once a week) can run a 10K? Maybe I should stick to the gazelle...

Too bad there isn't an emoticon for the gazelle...can you imagine one of those yellow guys with a tony little pony tail?

Sure, you can build up to a 10K in three months! Start slow, and give yourself time for recovery, and stretch, stretch, stretch.
And buy yourself a good pair of shoes.
      And stretch.

You can do it. Runners World has some great programs. I highly recommnend running/walking intervals until you get to a certain comfort level. (Run 4 minutes, Walk 1 minute...Until you can stretch it to Walk 9 minutes, Walk 1). This will quickly increase your endurance.

        Best of luck!
