Cannellini bean soup with proscuitto and the parmesan rind floating around in my cheese drawer. It's my turn for group soup this week. My neighbor had twin boys last week so I am making some extra for them.

If I really get it together, I'll bake some brown sugar cookies for them as well. (And me, who am I kidding ).

I have no idea- I'm at a loss for inspiration at the moment.

It's 90 degrees, too. Probably a salad for me with shrimp or chicken tossed on top and I'll come up with something for Nikolai- he's a big fan of the grilled cheese these days. I'll probably give him the banana that's turning brown because he's much less picky about his bananas than I am.

PS- I taught him to say, "I'm a cheese hound" everytime he goes to get a piece of cheese from the fridge. I keep string cheese and cut up pieces of cheddar in one of the drawers for him

I think it will be a basic pancake supper tonight with fruit smoothies. I get so lazy when DH is out of town. Lucky for me the girls love breakfast!

We're having sausage and peppers - red meat and chicken are about the only things that I can eat right now.

I guess I still consider that a red meat, though I guess it isn't really is it - oh well, I can handle the flavor. Last night DH made salmon and I about gagged.

We are having chicken and sundried tomato ravioli and butternut squash ravioli in a tomato cream sauce with fresh thyme and parmesan.

Best part 10 minutes to done time and sooooo yummy!

Not a clue, yet. Something from the freezer, probably; we have to eat most of this food before we move. Oh, our culdesac is throwing a going-away gathering in a few hours (they're a great bunch of people, most of whom have lived in these houses since they were built 30 years ago); maybe there'll be food there.

icky Chinese takeout from Panda Express. There is NO good Chinese food in Kansas City! It's so frustrating b/c we had a great place in Cleveland Heights (Hunan Coventry for all of you new transplants), and the boys LOVE Chinese food.

I'm w/you Cheri. Salmon would never have made it w/me before pregnancy, but food has been an issue. I'm super drawn to eggs. Scrambled, over-easy, egg sandwiches - whatever. But I cannot handle dealing with raw meat of any kind. This is really unfortunate for the girl w/a side of beef and 1/2 a pig in her freezer.

Sweet! Thanks for the recommendation! That's just about 2 miles from our new house.

Jenn, we LOVED The Woks when we were in college its at 87th Street and just east of Pflumm. Shouldn't be too terribly far from you.

Cheri - I'll go search it out. I hope it's still there.

Poky - Alison is right. Coventry has lots of yummy stuff. Grumms has FANTASTIC subs, Tommy's has great veggie / not entirely veggie but more granola type stuff, Winking Lizard is a fun bar w/great wings and pizza ... Waaaaaah!

Also be sure to check out Mama Santa's in Little Italy for the best / cheapest pizza in town, and Corbos bakery across the street for the MOST AMAZING cassatta cake and cannoli.

Alesci's on Mayfield Road (just east? of Green) sells pizza dough, 3 bags / $1. It's fabulous.

Cafe Tandoor on S. Taylor is great Indian. Cedar Road has Aladdins at the point where Cedar and Fairmount merge together. Wonderful Middle Eastern food. Across the street you'll find the Mad Greek which has the unusual combination of Greek and Indian food. Both done very well.

Mi Pueblo is on Euclid Ave, just east of University Hospitals. Dodgy neighborhood, try to go in by dusk so you know where you are.

Lemon Grass on Lee (in the Cedar / Lee neighborhood). DH enjoyed the Pub in the same area. And I have to put in a plug for my friend's paint-your-own-pottery / crafting studio in the same spot called Studio You! It's a lot of fun, and if you go in you must tell Jane I sent you. When I grow up I want to be Jane.

Now I'm really missing my favorite restaurants. I'm going to go cry.
