i bought three packages of chicken breast today. all three smell to high heaven. they made me gag.

dh had me throw them away. now i feel like a schmuck....i should have taken them back and gotten my $15 back.

call the grocery store. They may (should) give you your money back - or at least store credit - anyway. I had a whole chicken from TJ's once that was smelly before the date stamp, and even though I offered to bring the stinky bird back in, they just trusted me and gave me a refund next time I came in.

call -- ESPECIALLY if it's a chain store. you should get something.

That has happened to me so many times with strawberries. The mold is hiding in the middle. Is it worth the $3.00 to raise a stink?!

I'd call them if just to let them know that they've sold a boat load of bad chicken and some people will eat it anyway.

I'm so close to becoming a fishetarian again and every story like that just pushes me ever closer.

What'd you end up doing? I would have gone back to the store to customer service, told them the story and asked if you could get something else instead.
