    Thanks - even though it says they're safe to go into the oven, I just don't want the enamel to go bananas. I got mine as a gift...

      It can go in without harming the finish. I agree that it is 500 degrees or so. There is something about the handle and how heatproof it is up to a certain temp but I don't remember.

        We have used them in the oven on numerous occasions and haven't had any problems with them.

          I've had mine for 25 years and put it in the oven all of the time.

              Yup, all my Le Creuset whether cast iron or not goes in the oven all the time.
