      I'm no help here, because I would just use it for cooking (coq au vin).

        Also a gift from a patient. I know it is brandy but I don't know much about it -- other than using it for cooking or adding a splash to margaritas.

        If I asked DH about that scotch, he would say drink it. !! I'm not much a Scotch drinker. We did open the brandy and it is smoother (to me) than Scotch but still not the top of my list. DH liked it.

            I would make a torte, but I guess that would really only lighten you up by 6 tablespoons or so.

              I would use it for cooking unless you're a cognac drinker. VSOP is pretty basic, so don't feel bad wasting something very good or expensive (not to diminish the nice gesture of the present).
