Re: Meals to take when friends have babies
We have aMAZing neighbors. Truly wonderful. The ones immediately to the right of us invited us over for ribs tonight - the whole meal done. She & I spent some time talking about how we have no plans to move - we just want to redo portions of our homes to make them bigger or better or whatever. We both agree that neighbors are such a crap shoot - it's not worth risking it to move into a "fancier" neighborhood.
I'll add that this invite is AFTER her husband cut & fertilized our lawn yesterday (we have a really big yard), b/c he'll be going off to help with harvest in a couple weeks, and dh will do the same for him. These are also the same people who are arranging for dirt to be delivered here and will bring equipment home from work to re-grade our yard, and who's civil engineer father came over and surveyed our yard for free to tell us what to do to fix the drainage problem.
Hey - if this is what you get when you live in a "fly-over" or "rectangle" state, I'll take it.
There - I've hijacked my own thread.
