    Kosher instant puddings??

    I grew up w/the ease of instant pudding for a quick dessert and for use in recipes. Since I no longer eat pork and it's derivatives, I have been hard pressed to find instant pudding and gelatin mixes that are good. The middle eastern brands don't compare to J-ello brand IMO.
    So have any of you come acrossed good kosher or veggie based instant gelatin/pudding products ?

    Suz: I can't confirm quality because I've never had it, but I know someone who shops at http://www.mykoshermarket.com and has had some luck finding decent kosher substitutes for ordinarily pork-based products... Might be worth a shot...

      Suz, I am making a mental note to ask my friend who keeps kosher. My grocery store has a pretty good kosher section and I'll take a peek next time I am there. I love pudding so I'll guinea pig a few for you. I've tried the Hain brands (vegetarian) before but it has been quite a while.

      I know this isn't quite what you are looking for, but you could speed things up a little by making a 5x batch of the dry ingredients (cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch) and then adding milk and cooking. But you're stuck with the stove on that one...

        Nellei I make home made puddings from time to time...'m just looking for a GOOD tasting instant quick and easy
