  • Cake Wrecks!

I think anyone could enjoy this, but you fancy-cake-decorating types will possibly get some extra enjoyment out of it, if you're not already reading it. There's only a handful of pages of entries, so far; they're all worth reading - I had tears rolling down my eyes reading the commentary on the naked mohawk-baby carrot jockeys.

    That is pee-your-pants funny.

(This disasters look like something I would make, except far more tragic and less humorous.)

I don't feel quite so bad about my failed octopus cake for Daegan's b-day.

I was laughing so hard Daegan kept trying to see what was so funny!

The Grand Theft Auto cake for a 4 year old was lovely ....

A friend sent me that link once before. I hadn't looked at it closely enough to realize that these are supposed to be professional cakes!

They definitely are professional cakes. That's probably the worst part (or best, depending on how you look at it). Did you get to the wedding cake with the red and green stripes, that has the photo of what they asked for, and the photo of the end result?

Just makes me think of my own wedding cake. It was supposed to look like this

The third tier fell, and I have no photos. I never even saw it before it fell, so I don't know how/if she pulled off the flowers - although I've been told it was pretty. The caterer tried to put it back together (yeah - that was ever going to work), and ended up slicing it before anyone told me what happened.

That is awesome. Especially the carrot riding babies!

I so wish I had the photo of a disaster cake I made with a friend. It was supposed to be a Mango Banana cake with cream cheese frosting. It had mango curd banana cake and cream cheese icing -- mango curd between the layers. While we were making it, my friend objected to the amount of egg yolks in the curd. We already put in so much butter, how could we add more fat and cholesterol with all those egg yolks? I know now that the egg yolk is needed to make the curd set up. We assembled the cakes and probably didn't let the layers get completely cool. Between the remaining heat of the layers and the too loose curd, the middle layer started to slide out between the top and bottom. It looked like the cake was developing a double chin. We used the extra curd to draw in a smiley face and the cake looked a lot like Eric Cartman.

I can't believe these cake decorators are in business!

Yikes, I can't believe these are actually done by pro's!!! That green and white wedding cake, I can only imagine the look on the bride's face when she saw it. If it were me, I'd be looking around for either the candid camera crew or the Punk'd crew. How sad is that?!?! What was the bakery even thinking presenting that mess to her and asking to be paid!

These are to funny though I'm sure you wouldn't think so if you'd actually paid for them.

This is hysterical but really does happen!! I ordered a cake for a colleague a year or two ago and asked that it read "Congratulations Robert....You Rock" but the idiot wrote dot dot dot. I couldn't believe it. I laughed my ass off after I got a new cake.
