  • Mango, Lime & Ginger sorbet - YUM

I did a search in case anyone else had come up with this wonderful delight but did not find it. So, my apologies if someone else has already posted such.

I had this at a friends house and thought it was good enough to share while I finish making a batch of my own.

Friend does not cook with recipes - just by taste - so here goes what we estimated of each ingredient.

1 Large ripe mango (or 2 smaller ones - about 2 cups chopped)
    3 Limes
    1 inch fresh ginger
    1 cup water
    1 cup sugar

Dissolve sugar in water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil for a minute and let cool. Meanwhile, chop mango, juice limes and peel ginger. Mix all ingredients in a blender and then pour in to ice cream maker. Voila!!
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Man, between your sorbet post and heidi's ice cream post, I'm going to go get an ice cream maker!!!!

    Sounds delicious!

      It was gooood.
Since I did not want to come across like a pig, I did not ask for seconds. So, tonight I ate the seconds, thirds, and fourths I wish I had had the other night.

I've got a question for you ice cream/sorbet gurus...
Do I have to add the water and sugar mix? What would have happened if I had not? I think it would have been just as good without the sugar...healthier too.
