What's your favorite birthday cake?

I'm a fan of spice cake with a cream cheese frosting. Of course, my birthday is in the fall and this goes great with mulled cider. Yum.

I'd never get my kids to go for that - but it would be great for my birthday!

Now I want spice cake with cream cheese frosting. Dang, that sounds good.

My bday is in the summer so spice isn't quite as in then. I like chocolate cake with raspberry frosting (just strain some juice from frozen raspberries and add it to the frosting). Right now a yellow cake with chocolate frosting sounds good too. Or a coconut cake. Or any cake. I'm hungry.

As much as I hate to admit it, I love yellow and white boxed cakes. But if I was going with something more homemade I think I might have to pick carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. MMM....

Oohhh! Coconut cake. Yum. Now I want coconut cake! My step mother makes an awesome coconut cake and insists on fresh coconut and coconut milk. Every visit involves some argument about draining the coconuts with my dad. He can never get it right, apparently. I need to make one of those before summer is truly out the door here.

I'm a birthday "anything other than cake" girl- I've had birthday pie (chocolate and also coconut), birthday mousse (several varieties- for 40 it was one from the Death by Chocolate cookbook that had orange liqueur- OMG), birthday pastries.

I'm not a fan o' the cake.

(our wedding cake was carrot with cream cheese and to prevent the cream cheese from melting- she covered that in fondant. Didn't suck)

Yep, spice cake is my favorite. We make it with coconut frosting. :huh: Probably my dad's request. I ask for fruit pies a lot, too. When I was a kid, my mom made a chocolate cake with light blue frosting and marshmallow elephants marching around the perimeter. I only remember it the first time, but apparently I asked for that cake for the next several birthdays. One difficult year for me as an adult she made it again for memory's sake. I'll probably make it for my kids someday.

My favorite was angel food cake with this yummy frosting that my grandmother used to make. I haven't had it in years, recently its been replaced with plain cheesecake which is a very close second.

Yum! Spice cake with cream cheese frosting is my favorite, too, even though I have a summer birthday. For our birthday parties when I was little, my mom would sometimes do white or chocolate cupcakes instead of cake. DH has gotten me addicted to Snickers pie. It has an Oreo crust, and you soften some vanilla ice cream and mix chopped Snickers into it. Top with more Snickers and freeze overnight. So good I can't make it more than once a year!

Italian Cream Cake and Red Velvet Cake. I am a definite sucker for both, but especially the Italian Creme Cake.
